Vultures and much more in Monfragüe National Park
|
Not composite images - just lots of Griffon Vultures in the air together!
|
A huge shadow suddenly appears on the cliff face and you hear the rustle of wings, then a Griffon
Vulture flies right over your head, but doesn't even look at you!
The occasional Black Vulture would also appear, here alongside a Griffon
One or two Egyptian Vultures were also present, often among the Griffons
Black Kite were also present in good numbers
More distant Short-toed Eagle
Black Stork also nest on the cliffs
Black Redstart too
Crag Martin and Red-rumped Swallows whizzing around the cliffs
Blue Rock Thrush, immature male (left) and adult male for comparison
Red-rumped Swallow sunbathing and preening
A ridiculously tame Rock Bunting came to feed on crumbs in the layby
Red-billed Choughs nest-building in the Castillo, despite the disturbance from tourists
