November 2003
Goldcrest, Bawdsey, Suffolk
A search for elusive Firecrests at Bawdsey turned up a couple of more obliging Goldcrests instead. The
birds spent their time busily picking insects off the sycamore leaves.

One bird seemed to tire eventually, and sat motionless on a branch in the sun. Its eyes drooped at one

Little Egret, Shingle Street, Suffolk
Little_Egret#01
Little Egrets are a welcome recent addition to the UK breeding bird list. This bird could often be seen
at low tide in the creek at Shingle Street, on this occasion fishing and preening in the early morning
sunshine.
