The "Avian locusts" arrive!
|
A flock of 100+ birds descended on about 20 Rowan trees, laden with berries, in the small square at
Martlesham Heath, Suffolk. The birds would drop down from the neighbouring treetops, gulp down
8-10 berries in around 3 seconds and fly back up into the trees.
Just over a week later, there wasn't a single berry left!
A local Blackbird joins in the bun fight, grabbing a berry while stocks last!
